History and Evolution of DC National Rowing Club

Churchill Crew

The Churchill Crew Club was established in 2010 by two Churchill students, Alisa Dan and Julianna Hsing, both of whom graduated in June 2012.  Building on their legacy, Montgomery Boat Club was formed in 2015 as a way to include other schools from the area with no rowing programs of their own.

Montgomery Boat Club

Montgomery Boat Club was created in 2015 as a result of the desire to broaden and expand the Club's mission to a wider range of Maryland high school rowers in Montgomery County. We have, or have had, participating athletes who are from schools including Winston Churchill High School, The Bullis School, St. Andrew’s Episcopal, The Lab School, Wootton High School, Sherwood High School, St. Anselm’s Abbey School, and The Heights School.

DC National Rowing Club

In 2019 Montgomery Boat Club became DC National Rowing Club. Building on our rich history, we hope to expand and grow our  team and fleet to continue to teach high school students the art of rowing, the reward of discipline and hard work, and the satisfaction of victory.
